Sydling St Nicholas is an old world English village, set in a beautiful valley in the Dorset countryside. Many of the cottages are 18th and 19th century. There is a pretty stream, the Sydling Water that runs through making the village even more enchanting.
The whole of Sydling St Nicholas lies within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition, parts of the parish lie within the Hog Cliff National Nature Reserve and the Cerne and Sydling Downs Special Area of Conservation. It is also home to an area of Special Scientific Interest. Lovely walks abound where there are no cars, no people and just miles of undulating unspoiled countryside
